SUPRA Tour Especial 2013: Part Three
SEPTEMBER 26, 2013
Enjoying a 13-hour layover in the Mexico City airport.
After five days in Mexico City we flew to Costa Rica for the second leg of the tour for some more signings, demos, and skating in the streets of San Jose and Jaco. Unfortunately, the second leg of the tour began with mechanical problems on our plane that resulted in a 13-hour delay at the Mexico City airport. Let's just say that we are very familiar with the Mexico City airport now. After finally taking off a day late, we landed in San Jose and drove straight to Jaco for our first signing at B&B Surf Shop. The rainy season was in full effect, so we didn't get to do as much street skating in Jaco as we would have liked, but we did manage to hang out at a Jaco beach one afternoon. Our final days of the tour took place in San Jose with some signings and a demo at the PLX skate shop that was attended by thousands of fans. Thousands. It was impressive, to say the least.
Lizard making the most of it.
What's the first thing you do when you arrive in Jaco? For Boo Johnson it's a donkey ride on the beach.
Furby climbs out on a totally normal looking palm tree.
Lizard and Pat picking some sea shells on the beach.
After some R&R we walked down to B&B for our first Costa Rica signing.
The team outside B&B after the signing. Off to San Jose.
With a break in the rain we found this ditch to skate. Pat looks on while Lizard gets a trick.
Lizard King gets a tree wallie in a San Jose ditch.
Next spot was a nice location for some bench lines. Boo Johnson, b/s smith.
Neen, f/s crooks.
Jim and Lizard filming a Dirty Klips Brotherhood piece out the van window iPhone style.
Jim Greco at our next spot. "Hey-eeee!"
Lizard King throws down a nice front nose for the locals.
Post front nose chill.
After the session, we were off to PLX for the signing. There were so many people there to greet us at the mall, we felt like the Jonas Brothers.
The next day we hit a few local spots in San Jose. Boo Johnson, gap to 50-50.
Nick Tucker takes a gap switch.
After a long battle, Spencer got a big spin flip. Lizard was there to congratulate him.
The demo location at PLX's skate plaza.
Furby started the demo with a kick flip over the rail.
Boo Johnson, steep nose blunt.
Spencer Hamilton, f/s flips over the rail.
Pat Rumney with a f/s 180 nose grind down a beast of a hubba.
Did we mention Pat Rumney is insane? F/s blunt.
Furby got the "Demo Ender Award" for closing out, not one, but two of the demos. Nollie flip, over and out.
These skaters chased us down the streets for a mile after the demo. They probably just wanted to let Boo johnson know that he was the MVP of the tour. Thanks to everyone in Costa Rica and all the fans that came out to support the SUPRA Tour Especial. Check suprafootwear.com to see the full Tour Especial video, coming soon.
